  • Lights & Air Con: Understand control mechanisms and liaise with building engineers if necessary.
  • Rigging & Floor Protection: Coordinate with production suppliers and ensure floor protection where needed.
  • Facility Contacts: Obtain contact details for engineers, building managers, and security.
  • Waste Management: Arrange for rubbish disposal and recycling bins.
  • Safety & Security: Verify fire safety measures, asbestos concerns, and security needs.
  • Equipment & Facilities: Ensure access to necessary equipment, PPE, and amenities.
  • Logistics: Plan loading areas, water points, toilets, and back-of-house spaces.

STEP 2: During the Shoot

  • Radios & Oversight: Maintain communication and oversee filming activities to ensure safety and adherence to agreements.
  • Location Department: Ensure the satisfaction of the location department to foster positive relationships.

STEP 3: After the Shoot

  • Maintenance: Monitor toilets, rubbish collection, and cleanliness post-shoot.
  • Condition Assessment: Assess any damages and ensure reinstatement of areas used.
  • Clean-up & Restoration: Remove temporary signage, turn off lights, and restore the location to its original state.

STEP 4: After the Strike

  • Walkthrough & Reconciliation: Conduct a thorough inspection with the location manager, reconcile costs, and gather feedback for improvement.

Effective management of a filming location requires attention to detail, proactive communication, and collaboration with all stakeholders involved. By following these steps, we ensure a seamless and successful filming experience while preserving the integrity of the location.
