The Honourable Society
Dating from at least 1310, this gathering place for Lawyers features the Old Hall, a court in the early 18th century, prior to the Court of Appeal being established, and referred to in Dickens’ Bleak House. There is also a remarkable chapel by Inigo Jones from 1623, the fan vaulted undercroft is staggering!
The Great Hall was opened by Queen Victoria in 1845, and there are several squares of a Victorian period appearance, as well as Stone Buildings, a perfect Georgian street.
There is an impressive MCR which could double as a Bar in Parliament, and a basement room under the Old Hall which resembles a room in Spain or Eastern Europe.
The dazzling Library enhances the breathtaking range of available interiors.
Weekends only.
